Would you live in an IKEA showroom?

So the rumour has it that IKEA is starting to sell prefab houses in the States. The house is designed by Ideabox and appionted by IKEA – but not sold by them! The house seems to be available through ideabox but was appointed by the Portland IKEA store for the Portland Home & Garden Show.

I like the idea of sustainable, eco-friendly prefabs but I’m not too keen on the general design or styling of the house. It lacks personality and spark. It looks like an IKEA showroom. However it makes me dream of getting my styling eyes and hands on a place like that just to prove that it IS possible to create a fun, vibrant and personal space with IKEA products.

This place and this project, a pop-up shop curated by thedesignfiles.net gets my creative sparks going though:
